1985 Christmas Eve Dance Off

Growing up, my grandma would request for each grandchild to perform their talents for her Christmas Eve Party. After our undoubtedly earthshaking musical solos – we would throw on our leotards and perform our Christmas dance numbers.
I took it quite seriously. Here I am photographed in mid-costume change.
I had already performed Suzie Snowflake in the white tutu and crown earlier that evening.
Yet apparently desired to perform Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer as well – from the year before.

I like to believe it was worth seeing a second time.

Kristie performed O Christmas Tree that year.

Believe me when I tell you, it was unforgettable.
Annie also performed two numbers – Christmas Elf and (if my memory serves me correctly) Have a Holly Jolly Christmas. Later, she would become a doctor. I think it’s clear she missed her true calling. Katie, my beloved cousin, out did us all by incorporating a baton that year. I don’t remember the song, but I can’t forget that baton. It was nothing less than fabulous.

1985 was a great Christmas.
