Tea Party

“What’s most striking about the tea-party movement is that most of the organizers haven’t ever organized, or even participated, in a protest rally before. General disgust has drawn a lot of people off the sidelines and into the political arena, and they are already planning for political action after today “
– Glenn Harlan Reynolds today in the Wall Street Journal
Today, I took the kids to one of the thousands of tea parties being held to protest the government’s extreme overspending. It was a great experience. The crowd of 5,000 was surprisingly diverse: Republicans, Democrats, white, black, Latin, Asian, upper, middle, and lower class. It was refreshing to see so many Americans standing up. The spirit of the 1773 Boston Tea Party was definitely captured.
