Applesauce Chocolate Chip Bread

About a month after school began and the fall season was just sinking in, our mother would wait for what she called “winkie days.” Winkie days were when the coolness of the air was not stark enough for a winter coat, but also cold enough that you would want to wear a scarf and hurry home from the bus. It was on these “winkie days” that our mother would bake. We would walk into our home to the smell of cinnamon, spice, and a special after-school treat. Now as mothers, we want our children to have that same experience without having to be in the kitchen all day!!! Luckily there are a few recipes that deliver that memory in no time. Our Applesauce Chocolate Chip Bread is not only easy, but to-die-for good. Run into your kitchen, whip up this recipe, and let your child come home to an insta-warm kitchen and a little treat that says, “I love you so much.”
