“A mother is a person who seeing there are only four pieces of pie for five people, promptly announces she never did care for pie.” ~Tenneva Jordan
With Mother’s Day just days away, I find the following questions running through my mind: Do I spend a lot and go into debt? Do I spend too little and go into guilt? Do I buy something from the store and look uncaring? Or do I try to make them all something from scratch and end up collapsing onto my hot glue gun permanently scarring my face and emotional self? Is sending flowers too cliché? When they say, “All I want is a few photos of the grandkids“, do they really mean it?!?!?! Yes, we have all been there. Trying to find gifts for our mothers, mothers-in-law, step-mothers-in-law, grandmothers, grandmothers-in-law, and friends-who-are-like-our-second-mothers is not an easy task, especially when they all mean so much. Yet with Mother’s Day this coming Sunday, it’s time to put the pedal the metal on Mother’s Day gift preparations. No Fuss Fabulous is going to do what we can to alleviate the pressure. The remainder of the week NFF will be highlighting fuss-free special gifts and printables to shower all the mothers in your life.
“A mother is a person who seeing there are only four pieces of pie for five people, promptly announces she never did care for pie.” by Tenneva Jordan is one of my favorite quotes regarding mothers. Using her words as inspiration, I created a Mother’s Day printable that can be applied to our featured Pie in a Jar recipe and craft. If you don’t have time to create the Pies in a Jar or if Chocolate Chip Pie isn’t your granny’s thing, you can easily attach the printable to her favorite jar of homemade pie filling or a freshly baked pie! Whatever works for you.
I found this wonderful Kentucky Chocolate Chip Pie in a Jar recipe from the Southern Food section at About.com. It is delicious and so cute! Pair it with home crafted ribbon and our No Fuss Fabulous printables and you have created the perfect little gift for at least one mother in your life!
Kentucky Chocolate Chip Pie in a Jar
