I am so into Halloween this year. I can’t even tell you why. I am in love with Halloween. I just keep thinking, “Halloween is the eve to the true Holiday season. Yay!” I love, love, love fall…and not just for the great coats…and boots…and gloves…and faux fur…and well, maybe that is a part of it. But I love the look and feel of autumn. I love when it blows outside and you have to stay inside. It’s just so romantic. Maybe that’s why I love this time of year so much – it is romantic. I always wanted an autumn wedding, but that’s another story entirely.
So back to my love affair with Halloween. While decorating for the bewitching holiday, I discovered gold spray glitter…and well, it was just downhill from there. I spray glittered almost every Halloween decoration in my home. First I started with the pumpkins on my front porch. (p.s. These photos do not do the glitter justice in any form.)
Then I moved on to my wreath. Quickly followed by the large pumpkins on my pot rack in the kitchen, my witch’s cauldron, scented pinecones, and then every small pumpkin in every arrangement throughout my entire home, and then I unfortunately ran out of gold glitter spray. Otherwise my lifesize skeleton and vampire would have been sparkling from head to toe.
As fabulous as gold spray glitter is perhaps skeleton bones look more real if they don’t sparkle. Then again, the same organic argument could be used for my pumpkins and wreath…hhhmmm…maybe I will glitter the skeleton. (Yes, I bought a skeleton and vampire this year…as well as a witch’s broom. I know. I know. But I told you – I am in love with Halloween this year.)
After the gold glitter spray would no longer spray, I quickly moved on to spiderwebs. Spiderwebs are all over my home now. My cleaning ladies are going to have a fit when they come on Friday. And then I emptied out every old sauce bottle in the back of my refrigerator and labeled them with fun scary potion labels. After that, I planned to go to Walmart and pick up another bottle of spray glitter. Lee thinks it’s lucky I have not yet had time to go to the store. Little does he know that when I do have time, I am going to stock up. Christmas is just around the corner!
