Okay, not really.
Generally speaking, I step into my living room on December 26th and want to rip down that 13 foot fir down faster than you say “figgy pudding.” Don’t get me wrong. I am all in when it’s Christmas. I LOVE Christmas…but when it’s over – I’m over it.
Until this year….
this year was different.
This Christmas was magic.
I don’t know if it was my kids age. They are at an age where it is so easy to believe.
…or just how sometimes when you haven’t had the smoothest of years – you really appreciate what matters most.
Family
I closed my store for most of the month of December and I just enjoyed the season. I have to say it was worth it.
So reluctantly, I am putting the Christmas Tree away today.
So I find myself (the eternal ‘on-to-the-next-thing- girl) in an unexpected place. I keep saying, “Loralee, you’ve got to get into the New Year! It’s time to go forward!” But inside, I am thinking, “Yes, but the past has been beautiful as well. It was a beautiful Christmas.”
Here is to hoping that the New Year brings as much beauty as this past December!
