Adoption means you grew in your mommy’s heart instead of her tummy.
Boston’s finalization was held yesterday in Dallas!
He is now official!!
We did not use an agency with Boston. He was a direct placement adoption and so the papers are signed 48 hours after he was born and then a final hearing to reorder his birth certificate is held after three or four months have passed.
It went so smoothly.
We all look a little ragged in the photos because we had to wake everyone up at 6am and drag them into the car to get to the court on time! No time for much make up or hair. But it was (of course) well worth it! There were many many adoptions being done that morning and so it was so fun to see other new families being built.
Afterwards, we took everyone out to a celebratory breakfast with pumpkin pancakes and cinnamon apples!
The kids loved it.
It feels so good to know that Boston is officially ours.
He is our little prince. He has been the easiest baby. He started sleeping through the night shortly after two weeks and has been a dream ever since. He reminds me a lot of how Vienna was as a baby. He is extremely easy going.
The only time he cries is around 7am when he wakes up and wants to be fed. But even if he cried every minute of every day and never slept through a night, I would love him just the same.
From the moment I touched him, he has filled a little missing piece in our family and my heart.
He has been nothing but a perfect match from the beginning. We love him so much. So glad he is ours. We are so lucky.
