There is nothing like a romantic dinner for two at home. The quiet candlit ambience can make you feel like the only two people on earth. In a world full of rush, you want your Valentine’s evening to be without worry. My advice is to order in or make something a day beforehand that can be seasoned and placed in the oven. (If cost is an issue, check out some of the pre-cooked meals local grocers are offering for a Valentine’s dinner.) As important as food is, your mood on Valentine’s is more important. You don’t want to be crying because the cheesecake souffle was a flop or because your Chicken Cordon Bleu tastes like your mother-in-law made it. No. No, absolutely not. You need to feel sexy, filled with love, and without a worry in the world. This dessert delivers to your Valentine sweet tooth without breaking the bank or tapping into any possible emotional vault.
Here’s how you do it: Purchase a dessert of your choice from the frozen food section at your grocer. Pictured is a key lime pie, but a cheesecake would work just as well. While the dessert is still frozen, take a large heart cookie cutter and place it into your dessert to create a heart shape cut out. Take the heart shaped dessert out of the remaining pie or cheesecake. Set on your serving plate and place in the refrigerator to defrost until serving. Garnish with whipped cream and/or fruit. Now take the rest of the day to pamper, primp, amd prepare yourself for a well-deserved evening of romance!
