Pumpkin Sparkle Place Setting & Harvest Soup Party Inspiration

harvestsoupparty5Once a year, I hold a Harvest Soup Party. I have dear friends over and invite them to bring a homemade soup to share. Although the event is generally potluck (some years I have varied), I try to keep the event as formal as possible while keeping a warm comfortable atmosphere. I believe creating a formal event makes people feel special while keeping an event warm makes people feel cozy and at home. The attached photos are from my Harvest Soup Party last year. I haven’t decided on what look I will be using this year, so I have began searching the web for inspiration! While I was searching, I thought “hmmm… maybe I should share my past soup party photos for other people too.” So here are some photos! My favorite easy detail of last year’s Harvest Soup Party was the place settings. Instead of using just cards, I purchase small white pumpkins, glittered them with gold spray glitter from the can, and then tied brown cardstock tags with ribbons onto the stems. Simple but elegant. I love things that are simple and anything that has sparkles on it quickly becomes my best friend. I know…sparkle is an addiction…glitter is an addiction…but it’s such a pretty one. It took everything I had not to glitter my daughter’s Alice in Wonderland invitations and I’m glad I didn’t, but in all honesty it took everything I had. I am so thankful it’s Thanksgiving and Christmas time and glitter is basically required. Anyway, below are my photos! Happy Harvest…and glittering!
