Serendipitus Valentine Frozen Hot Chocolate

Norman Rockwell captured the romance of sharing a dessert with two straws!
Finding this recipe for frozen hot chocolate is indeed serendipitous! A few years back, Oprah featured Serendipity 3’s own frrrozen hot chocolate mix. The dessert is so big and rich, it has to be shared. I shared a large cupful with my boyfriend at the time. Years later, I realize the boyfriend was worth forgetting, but not the dessert. In 2001, this dessert was even more immortalized by the movie, Seredipity starring Kate Beckinsale and John Cusack. If you are lucky enough to be near New York City this Valentine’s Day, I recommend you stop by Serendipity 3’s very early! But, if you are like the rest of us who are only dreaming of fine shopping and chocolate in NYC, then having this dessert at home covers at least the latter half of your desires!

Serendipity 3’s frozen hot chocolate is now sold in many fun and different containers now at Amazon. Or if you just don’t have time to wait for shipping before Valentine’s Day, make your own!
Ingredients:
* 6 pieces (1/2-ounce) chocolate , a variety of your favorites
* 2 teaspoons store-bought hot chocolate mix
* 1 1/2 tablespoons sugar
* 1 1/2 cups milk
* 3 cups ice
* Whipped cream
* Chocolate shavings
Chop the chocolate into small pieces. Place it in the top of a double boiler over simmering water. Stir occasionally until melted. Add the hot chocolate mix and sugar. Stir until completely melted. Remove from heat and slowly add ½ cup of milk until smooth. Cool to room temperature.
In a blender, place the remaining cup of milk, the room-temperature chocolate mixture and the ice. Blend on high speed until smooth and the consistency of a frozen daiquiri. Pour into a giant goblet and top with whipped cream and chocolate shavings.

We are sharing this treat with our friends as a valentine. We have packaged the dry ingredients in a Wilton’s disposable cake decorating bag. Then we tie off the end and cut the excess. Next, we put that bag into another decorating bag and add on top of it all of the garnishes: marshmallows, the chocolate shavings and red hot hearts. Tie the end of the bag with ribbon. Attach the following Valentine tag and instructions. For more instructions check out our Peppermint Cocoa Cones here.

Annie: Sorry, guys! Here is the link to the tag/valentine!

Loralee: Oh, and you really should try this frozen hot chocolate. I LOVE it!

  • I forget about Valentine’s Day every year and make all my loved ones gifts in a couple of days. Last time, on February 12, I decided to make stickers out of our shared photos. It turned out that we had very few of them, but there were a lot of videos. And I rewound videos of us together and with the help of my mac software took screenshots at https://www.movavi.com/screen-recorder-mac/. By the way, it turned out to be very convenient. My girlfriends were satisfied. đŸ™‚
