We have all had those days.
The kind of day that may look like this.
Or perhaps this.
Or even as devastating as this.
I know we have all had those days.
But once in awhile, you get those other days.
The days that stick to your heart like glue.
Days that can never be erased from your memory
because they were such a delight to the soul.
I had one of those perfect days in February.
It snowed in Texas a lot.
And my munchkins looked like this.
You couldn’t wipe the smiles off their faces if you tried.
Okay, maybe it wasn’t that perfect.
But it was a good good day.
The kind of day you just want to stop and live forever.
I made homemade soup and homemade rolls.
Lee stayed home from work.
After hours of fun in the snow together, we warmed up our tummies with the food.
Then we climbed into our big bed and watched movies together.
It felt like Heaven on Earth to me.
Then the electricity went out…
for two days.
But it was still a very good day.
It sticks to my heart like glue.
Even months later, I love thinking about that day.
“Happiness is not given to us in a package that we can just open up and consume. Nobody is ever happy 24 hours a day, seven days a week…we perhaps need to snatch happiness in little pieces, learning to recognize the elements of happiness and then treasuring them while they last.”
